Children

A place your child can learn biblical truths, build Christian relationships and grow in faith

The Faith Kids team partners with parents to guide children (ages birth-5th grade) into a deeper relationship with Christ and a greater love for others. We are deeply committed to communicating the truth of God’s love in an engaging and age-appropriate way and to encourage children to take steps toward becoming life-long followers of Jesus.

FAQs

We know you have many questions before you even arrive at church. If you have any questions after reading our FAQ, please contact Children’s Ministry Director, Vickie Hampton.

Faith Community Church has several entrances. Where is the best access with parking for Children’s Ministry?

The Children’s Ministry lobby is located at the very back of the building, parallel to Route 135. If you park in the large back parking lot, the Children’s Ministry entrance will be the first entrance you approach (located on the right side of the building as you face the back of the church).

How do I know where to take my child?

If you enter through the main entrance of our church, you will find friendly greeters who will bring you to the Children’s Ministry lobby.

Alternately, if you part in the back parking lot, the Children’s Ministry entrance will be the first entrance you approach (located on the right side of the building as you face the back of the church). Once you are in the Children’s Ministry lobby, one of our helpful team members will greet you and your children and take you to the correct class(es).

When can I check my child in?

We ask our teachers to be in their classrooms at least 15 minutes before a program begins. If your child arrives before the classroom teacher, we ask that one parent remain with the child until one of our ministry partners arrives.

How old does my child have to be to participate in Children’s Ministry?

On Sunday mornings, we offer classes for all kids – babies through the 5th grade. There is no charge for our Welcome ministry. Children are given the opportunity to contribute an offering for a missionary, but it is strictly voluntary.

Is there a charge to participate?

There is no charge for Welcome Ministry.

When can my child begin attending?

Children may begin attending any ministry at any time. The Welcome Ministry may be limited to younger children.

What programs are available to my child?

Information about our many programs, activities, and special events for children can be viewed on our website at www.fcch.org/events, in our Welcome Ministry program, or by picking up a brochure at the Welcome Center located in the upper lobby by the main entrance.

My children are different ages. Can they be placed in the same class? And if my child brings a friend, can they be together in the same class?

Our teachers and curriculum are carefully chosen with the needs of each age group in mind. We place children in the class most appropriate to their age/developmental level. In addition to providing the most age appropriate instruction, it also encourages the development of friendships.

Twins or friends who are the same age will be placed in the same class, unless the parent/guardian instructs differently.

Siblings and friends who are a different age or in different grades will be placed in the appropriate group for their respective ages/grades.

What if my child is ill?

For the health of all, we ask that children and adults with any sign of infectious disease in the past 24 hours (fever, rash, green discharge, vomiting, diarrhea) not attend our classes.

How do I know my child is safe?

The safety of your child is of paramount importance to us. All our adult volunteers have completed a thorough screening process. The safety guidelines and screening application are also available on our website.
